The film is an adaptation of the novel "Inferno" by Dan Brown.

Robert Langdon renowned expert in symbology wakes up in a hospital with no memories of the previous days, but subject of terrible visions. With the help of Dr Sienna Brooks, he will travel around Europe to get his memory back. Their investigation will lead them to discover a worldwide plot aiming to wipeout half of the human population through the spreading of a plague. The inquiry will evolve around the "The Inferno" first of of Dante's divine comedy, which largely inspired the authors of that terrible conspiracy.
