At a military exercise, a new war robot demonstrated by Nova Robotics is struck by lightning, which causes a short circuit and then, by coincidence and chance, gets out of the heavily guarded facility. The head of security, Captain Schroeder, immediately launches a search as robot number five is unresponsive to signals and behaving very strangely. Unnoticed, he gets into a car owned by the sympathetic Stephany Speck. When the girl discovers him, she takes him for an alien and invites him to her house. In the morning, however, she discovers that it is a robot from Nova Robotics and informs the company's director. However, the robot doesn't want to be caught and dismantled, so it gets into the girl's car and tries to drive away...
