Douglas Quaid, a construction worker, has a beautiful wife and would have a happy life if not for the nightmares that bring him to Mars. So one day, influenced by an advertisement, he goes to a company that promises to insert memories of the perfect holiday for a fee. But something goes wrong, and Douglas discovers that he is no ordinary worker, but someone quite different. What's more, not only is his work friend trying to kill him, but also his wife. She confirms his suspicions. He has no choice but to return to Mars and find out the real truth about who Douglas Quaid really is.
