Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a mathematical genius who has a better relationship with numbers than with people. Under the guise of a small-town accounting firm, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world's most dangerous criminal organisations. As the Treasury Department's Organized Crime Unit, headed by Ray King (Jonathan Kimble Simmons), gradually tightens the noose, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a well-established robotics company whose accountant (Anna Kendrick) has discovered accounting irregularities amounting to millions of dollars. But as Christian uncovers the accounting records and gets closer to uncovering the truth, the body count begins to rise in his neighborhood.
