Jerry Muligan is an expatriate in Paris where he tries to make a reputation as a painter. He meets Milo Roberts, lonely but rich heiress who immediately takes interest in him. As she falls in love with Jerry, she decides to help him in his carrier and to become his sponsor. However, Jerry meets Lise Bouvier, the girlfriend of Henri Baurel, a pianist struggling to get known. Jerry obviously falls in love with Lise. From there begins the story of an impossible romance between Milo, Jerry and Lise, who got engaged to Henri, in the beautiful and romantic streets of Paris.
